In the Spotlight: Joanna Dong
Joanna started singing when she was six and has since
then won numerous solo and group vocal competitions.
At home on the stage, Joanna’s experience in
performance includes theatre, film and singing: with
local a cappella group ngam, the Victoria Chorale and
the NUS Jazz Band among many others. Most recently,
she was engaged to perform for the 2004 New Year’s Eve
celebrations at the Esplanade where she sang solo with
the NUS Jazz small group in front of thousands at the
outdoor stage.
Joanna is also an experienced wedding
singer. For the past three years, she has entertained
newly weds and dinner guests with her eclectic
repertoire of English and Mandarin evergreens, rock
ballads, top forties, bossa nova and jazz. Couples
will appreciate Joanna’s determination to make every
wedding a special and beautiful one – she accepts
special song requests and dedications from the couple,
so long as they are reasonably within her means.
Believing that the music at a wedding
dinner is more than just pleasant ambience, but is a
tribute to the couple, to love, and to the institution
of marriage, Joanna delivers every song with heartfelt
